Lu Biondi is an emerging multimedia performance artist, whose cultural roots begin in Caracas, Venezuela. Their artistic practice and career efforts surround themes of social injustices, pleasure and silliness as a means of ensuring sustainable wellness for diverse communities. Being informed through the love of learning and play, they incorporate elements of research, collaboration, and a globally curious perspective in their creative works. Lu is currently crafting a brighter future through opportunities in the education, art and health fields. Lu received both a B.S. in Health Science and a B.F.A in Dance and Choreography at Virginia Commonwealth University. Although Lu’s main artistic expression is movement, during their time in higher education they experimented with various mediums in order to bring their visions to life. They have experience with choreography, dance education, costume design/construction, sound design, filmmaking, integration of technology & art and set production. Along with these skills for creating, Lu has ample experience in community organizing as they frequently curate spaces that foster acceptance, growth and cohesion. Their approach to life and art prioritizes practices of humanizing in order to address inequities experienced by those living within oppressive systems.
